About

Information, not influence

Afiwe means comparison in Yoruba. That is the whole job.

What Afiwe is

Afiwe is a free website that lays out published facts about banks, lenders and insurers in Nigeria and Ghana, so individuals and small businesses can read them side by side.

What Afiwe is not

We are not a bank, broker, lender or insurer. We do not recommend providers, rank any provider as best, give financial advice, or sell financial products. We do not take applications.

How we sort

Lists are alphabetical or numeric, chosen by you. Products with missing figures come last. Order never reflects payment or preference.

About the figures

We include figures only when published on the provider’s official website and link to that source. If a fact is not reproduced here, use “See provider’s website”. Each listing shows its last checked date, not a promise that terms remain unchanged. Lending and savings rates are different and not directly comparable.

Which lenders are included

Lenders are listed separately from commercial banks. They include regulator-listed microfinance banks, finance companies, digital lenders and Ghanaian savings and loans companies. Institution types and regulator source links appear on provider profiles.

How information is checked

Provider identities are checked against public registers from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Bank of Ghana (BoG), National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and National Insurance Commission Ghana (NIC). Product information comes from official provider pages. Checks are dated editorial reviews, not a live licence or rate feed. We do not claim to list every provider.

Licences and regulators

We link to the official regulator register used for each provider check. A dated register check is not a guarantee that a licence remains current, or a regulator endorsement of Afiwe. Confirm current status with the regulator itself.

Where we operate

Nigeria and Ghana today. Kenya may come later and is not available yet.
