How to compare business bank accounts in Nigeria

A factual explanation of business account features, published charges, account access and source dates in Nigeria, without provider rankings.

Start with the account's stated purpose

Providers may offer accounts for registered businesses, sole proprietors or other organisations, with different eligibility rules. Product names alone do not establish whether an account matches a particular legal structure. The provider's published documentation describes the intended account holder.

Facts that can be compared

Public account information may cover opening and operating balances, account maintenance, transfers, cash handling, cards, alerts, statements, access channels and signatory arrangements. Not every provider publishes every field on its website.

Transaction charges and account features can depend on the channel, transaction type or customer's arrangement. Afiwe reproduces a figure only when it is publicly published on the official provider site; otherwise it shows a direct link.

Read figures in context

A minimum balance is different from a fee. A rate on a deposit is different from a borrowing rate. A published charge should be read with its unit, conditions and source date. Sorting a numeric field is a way to arrange facts, not a recommendation or a complete cost assessment.

Using Afiwe's comparison

The Nigeria Banks directory can be filtered to business accounts. Up to three listed products from the same country and category can be displayed side by side. The alphabetical default and numeric sort options do not identify a 'best' bank.

The official product link is the place to confirm current documentation, account opening requirements and the terms that would apply. Afiwe does not open accounts or accept deposits.
